Meet Our Pastor: Very Reverend Vicente “Father Vic” N. DeLa Cruz, MCL, JCL
Very Reverend Vicente “Father Vic” DeLa Cruz began serving as Pastor of St. Hilary of Poitiers Church and St. Anthony of Padua Mission on July 1, 2026. Originally from the Philippines, Father Vic came to the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in 1986 to continue his seminary formation and was ordained to the priesthood on December 8, 1990.
Over more than three decades of priestly ministry, Father Vic has faithfully served the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in numerous parishes and diocesan leadership roles. A canon lawyer by training, he earned advanced degrees in Canon Law in Canada and served for many years as Judicial Vicar and Director of the Diocesan Tribunal. He has also been an educator, retreat leader, missionary, pilgrimage guide, and mentor to priests and deacons throughout the diocese.
Most recently, Father Vic served as Pastor of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux, Episcopal Vicar for Clergy, and Vicar Forane of the Upper Lafourche Deanery. His appointment to St. Hilary and St. Anthony marks a joyful homecoming, as he previously served at St. Hilary during the summer of 1993.
Father Vic is known for his deep love for the Church, his pastoral heart, and his commitment to helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Our parish family is grateful to welcome him and looks forward to the many blessings God has in store through his leadership.
