St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church is a historic mission chapel in the small, rural community of Gheens in southern Lafourche Parish. Physically located at 1701 Highway 654, Catholics have worshipped here since 1912. Although in the 1920s, a severe storm struck the area and entirely destroyed the original St. Anthony church building, the community rallied together to rebuild and continue to gather to worship to this day.

In response, the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is inviting our communities to join in prayer for the unity, healing, and renewal of our country through Eucharistic Adoration.
